About Aphelion Press
At the far point
Aphelion is the farthest point in an orbit. That is the territory we like: fiction written at a distance from the familiar, where the light is colder and the signal takes longer to arrive.
We publish speculative fiction, science fiction, and strange thrillers that treat the impossible as pressure, not decoration. A premise should leave fingerprints on the people who survive it.
What belongs here
A clear fracture
The world should break in a specific way: a hidden city, a borrowed day, a manufactured soul, a memory that should not exist.
Human residue
Technology, magic, empire, and conspiracy only matter when they change grief, loyalty, hunger, faith, guilt, or love.
No empty spectacle
We would rather publish one precise nightmare than a thousand pages of chrome, jargon, and unearned wonder.
Editorial Taste
Send us this
- Speculative premises with emotional consequences.
- Science fiction that remembers class, debt, faith, labor, family, and bodies.
- Thrillers where the conspiracy changes how the characters understand themselves.
- Prose with an actual pulse: clean, strange, exact.
Not this
- Generic chosen-one machinery with a sci-fi coat of paint.
- Worldbuilding that exists only to prove the author made a spreadsheet.
- Hype in place of stakes.
- Futures where nobody has to pay rent, bury the dead, or answer for harm.
